Plane pal or other inflatable for flight - anyone used one?

Hello,
I'm taking my almost 2 year old on an overnight transatlantic flight. We have purchased a seat for him. We did this last year when he was closer to 1 and it was awful on the overnight flight, just holding him on my lap, he woke up crying repeatedly and my legs were totally numb. I'm looking into buying/hiring a plane pal or flyaway bed so he can lay flat (or close to flat) during the cruise portion of the flight and hopefully get some sleep.

Has anyone used one? Any tips or good brands?

Thanks

Which airline are you using?. BA will not allow these but Virgin will only accept the Plane Pal brand in a window seat.

Yep, as above. Look very carefully into what your actual carrier will accept (and even then it is at the discretion of the cabin crew).

Hi thanks for the replies. I am flying Aer Lingus and they told me they will accept anything that doesn't block the aisle. The plane pal is approved on them specifically.

Any experiences using them yourself?

When mine was about 1 we got bulkhead, non-exit, extra legroom seats and made him comfy on the floor with blankets etc.

This won't be allowed on Aer Lingus or most other airlines. That seat looks good, but I'd imagine a 2 year old would sleep if they have their own seat. I'm ex BA crew btw

Hey, we ended up using it on Aer Lingus, having called to ask and they said it was OK. My 2 year old slept great on it, for about 5 hours straight.

No I meant you wouldn't be allowed to let a child sleep on the floor these days. That seat looks great. Glad it worked out well

Hi @WolfMother326 hope it's ok to reopen this thread. May I know which inflatable you ended up using? Did you buy or hire it? Thanks!

@SleeplessinUK34 I bought a plane pal and we've used it multiple times. It is very worth it.
