Greece for girls holiday (over 40s)

We are looking for a resort in one of the greek islands with short transfer time and hot weather in September. Some nightlife but not too rowdy, tavernas and beach.
Can anyone suggest anywhere please?

Agios Nikolaos is gorgeous and isn’t known for wild nightlife.

Chania, in Crete. I stayed there on my own last June and it was glorious. Only about 20 minutes in a taxi to the hotel and then about 10 minutes in a taxi to the town centre of an evening. Also, a lovely taverna right next door on the beach and also right behind the hotel as well.

Crete is a fantastic island.

Zante. Not Laganas, but one of the other resorts like Kalamaki, Tsilivi, or Argassi. Kalamaki is a ten minute transfer, no beach front tavernas (as it’s a protected area due to turtles laying their eggs on the beach) but lots of lovely tavernas nontheless, bars and restaurants. I’ve not stayed in the other resorts but have heard lots of great things.

The whole island is easily accessed by hiring a car and there are lots of beauty spots to be found just by going off the beaten track.
