Sedgley???

Despite my husband telling me he'd booked a cottage for the family in North Yorkshire (Pickering type area) he's now sent me the link and it's in Sedgley!! Not NY, not moorland, closer to West Coast than East.

I'm a bit furious with him for lying.

Are there any nice places to go around there at all? It doesn't look like a holiday destination to me at all but I'm prepared to be convinced by anyone who lives there or has had a holiday there.

Can he cancel or swap to somewhere else? It's not really a holiday destination!

The Black Country Living Museum is nearby- my kids enjoyed going there when they were younger. Also Wightwick manor (National Trust).

There’s plenty of things to do if you drive or happy to use public transport but it is definitely not a holiday destination.

In Dudley? I can't imagine how you could mistake that for Yorkshire. Can you cancel?

Sedgley is only up the road from me in the West Midlands (although you'd be right in saying that's no where near NorthYorkshire)

22 miles / 40 mins to Beatrix Potter museum in Windmere, I’d plan to spend say 3 days doing the drive to the Lakes and visit around there?

My geography isn't the best but that looks like North Yorkshire to me 🤷🏻‍♀️ I mean I agree it's nearer west than east but it's definitely North.

Phew - that's a much better place for a holiday than Sedgley!
