Hi , we’re having a three day weekend in Copenhagen at the end of the month with one teen
Can anyone recommend the best way to get around and see local attractions please ? We’re also planning on crossing the bridge to Malmo .
Im a bit confused with the various travel cards

Thankyou

We got the Copenhagen Card which includes all public transport within the city and transport to and from the airport. It’s a very walkable city, and few of the main sights are more than a 20 min walk from the centre. From Copenhagen to Malmö you can take either a bus or the train. The bus is the cheapest.

From a recent trip, keep in mind the museums in malmo are shut on a Monday and you can see pretty much everything else in an hour. If you have time it’s worth staying on the train and going to Lund.

Thankyou for your reply is the Copenhagen Card just for transport would you know if there is a card that includes entry to attractions please?

This.

Also the machines at the train stations are really easy and have English translation.

There are lots of tube style maps online that will explain the train to Malmo.

Not sure if the attached will come out clear.

Copenhagen card includes attractions. It's fab and meant we visited a few things we probably wouldn't have bothered with if we had to oay separately.

Haus1234 · 18/03/2023 11:44

If you’re only there for 3 days I wouldn’t bother with Malmo, Copenhagen is much more interesting!

WinterMusings · 18/03/2023 12:10

Copenhagen is lovely. There's plenty to see & do without doing a day trip. Unless there's a specific reason you want to I wouldn't bother,

Thankyou so much for the map shouldhavetakenmorenotice it’s so good of you .

I walked everywhere when I went for the weekend. Also took the bus to Malmo, was interesting just to arrive in another country like that - and of course, the Bridge!

Thankyou all for your replies is it worth getting the card for 3 days ?

You won't need air con.. it doesn't get very hot there.. we had to buy a pair of jeans when we went last summer.

Lots to see walking around.. we walked a lot!! I had been watching Borgen on Netflix and loved seeing the Danish Parliment.

The design museum was great.

The only thing we had a problem with was I had booked a hostel but under 18s are not allowed to stay in dorm rooms so we had to find a last minute change of hotel. Otherwise we had a wonderful few days there.

We were there for 3 days and it was ideal. Mind you we visited a lot of things - with the card you could whizz in and out if it wasn't for you.

Sorry Rookiemere but may I ask where you got your card please ? I don’t know if we should get it online before we leave the Uk

It's a few years ago now, but I think we ordered and paid for it online, then picked it up at the airport as we needed it for the tram into town.

Thankyou so much ,

The Generator Hostel has private rooms which are really next level. It has a brilliant games area and is right next to Tivoli Gardens. You can walk to all the sights from there including the bus stop to Malmo where it is worth going for half a day to see the Torso and cross the bridge.

Friolero · 26/03/2023 15:37

We bought the Copenhagen Cards at the airport, we didn't order online beforehand and it was very easy. They're great value as include so many attractions as well as all the transport.

We were there last Easter and it was cold so take warm clothing!
