Algarve - accommodation recommendation please

Hi, we are thinking of the Algarve for a summer holiday. Our children are 2, 8 & 11. We would like 2 bed apartment, good location to walk to restaurants in the evening, good pool for the children in the day and near a beach would be a bonus. Can anyone recommend anywhere. We would like 4-5*. Thanks

We love the Algarve, and know it quite well. I feel the best resort is Lagos. We have stayed there four times, both before children and with our children. Last year we stayed in a fab apartment with our 2 children aged 1 and 3. It is called Vilabranca. You can book it through Thomson or direct with the owners. We used holidaylettings.co.uk last year and it was excellent value for money. The apartment had two big bedrooms, ours was ensuite. It had a large balcony overlooking the pool. Look at tripadvisor.co.uk it gets fab reviews. The complex is not big, but has two good pools, both with childrens sections. It is very clean and has nice bar and restaurant. Within five minutes walk there is several restaurants. Lagos centre is 15min walk, loads of restaurants and a lovely marina. There are lots of beaches close by.

All in all a great place for a family holiday.
