Searching for lovely all inclusive resort - Europe

Reusername · 16/03/2023 19:48

We have two older teen sons and they are fed up with our usual villa holidays and have requested an all inclusive trip to a nice resort with pools and activities (and a bit of culture nearby!!). They're not fussed about leaving Europe as one will already have done a long haul flight to Los Angeles in the early summer. So somewhere we can get to in a few hours. I think we will avoid Turkey but are open to anywhere else. We've been to most everywhere in Europe so this is more about the resort than the place. Prefer somewhere not aimed at younger children. I would so appreciate suggestions - just throw as many as you can at me.😀

Check out the Ikos group. Greece and Spain and absolutely fabulous. Our teens (14/17) love it.

Bumping cos i need suggestions too...

Have been to Ikos Dassia once and going again at Easter . Also stayed at Atlantica Aegean Blue .
Loved both but Ikos WAY ahead in terms of luxury.
Atlantica more fun for teens though . Good water park on site .
I think Ikos is a bit too nice for teens !!! I don't mean that in a bad way but my teens just want to eat and eat and eat . They don't care so much about food quality - it's more volume and choice.

The food in Atlantica is great too but nothing like Ikos .

Following as I also need somewhere like this for July. Ikos just too pricey. OP have you looked at Club Med? Am a big fan!

gogohmm · 17/03/2023 18:02

What is your budget? When do you want to travel. No point suggesting options not in budget

FoodieToo · 17/03/2023 22:09

Pico have you looked at Stella Palace in Crete ? That's where we are headed this summer . Lovely , two bedroom suites with shared pool and bar etc . A la carte restaurants . Not as dear / luxurious as Ikos but great reviews .
Excellent onsite water park.

Nana golden beach in Crete has several pools and water park. Not been with teens though.

I’d also recommend Club Med. Da Balaia in Portugal only has one pool but is in a fabulous location just above the beach. The teen club is good.

Without knowing your budget it’s hard to answer, but Jet2 have a holidays with teenagers page www.jet2holidays.com/holidays-with-teenagers

Thank you all. I don't really have a budget but I guess £5-£6k. I think we will go for 10 days because honestly after that my head will explode!

I should say we have been to Crete a few times and the kids weren't that impressed with the island so will probably swerve. Never been to Portugal. I'll check out all the groups you've mentioned.
