40th birthday trip June needs to suit teens

Please help me lol
I want to book a break either for a week 30-6 June or a shorter break 1-6 June for my 40th birthday.
I already have a villa booked for August for a lazy beach holiday so don't just want to do the same thing.
I am going round in circles. My kids will be 14 & 11 and need to be active all the time but I'm finding it hard. They like sporty kind of active not sightseeing active.
I've looked at dubai, Croatia, Italy, ski resorts, basically everywhere and don't know what to book.
Anyone been away with teens at a similar time and found them entertained enough?
Have a budget of around 2500-3k
Would like a mix of beautiful scenery but activities for them. Last year we went to lanzarote and they loved it cos of jetskis and paragliding but we'll be doing all of that in August.
An ideal break would be Italy but with lots of sports for them but finding it so confusing!

www.gardasportinghotel.it/en or www.quellenhof-lazise.it/en/sport-active/ on Lake Garda? www.parco-san-marco.com/en/facilities/sport/ Lake Lugano. Or the Dolomites?

Galternberg Hotel in Austria is amazing for activities.

Slovenia. You could do activities like kayaking, hiking, white-water rafting, SUP. It's a beautiful country and relatively inexpensive. See eg slovenianadventureholidays.com/

Neilsons?

Kvec1507 · 17/03/2023 16:45

Thanks all I'll take a look.
We can't afford neilsons I'm afraid

Would a city break be a better bet? Barcelona, New York, Paris etc.

We stayed at the Kinder Hotel in Hintertux around that time and from there could walk to a cable car up the mountain which has snow all year round as its a glacier. Could do skiing that time though its intermediate and advanced. Ice palace at top with boat ride under top of mountain. White water rafting nearby. Beautiful mountain scenery. Very good food at hotel was half board. Flew into Innsbruck and hired car.

I'm also doing Azores for my 50th and they have canyoning, whale watching, swimming with dolphins, thermal pools, canyoning etc. We are staying at Octant Furnas which has pools and thermal spa included. Flights from Stansted direct with Ryanair on Mondays.

Another vote for one of the Austrian lakes - huge amount of activities and day trips to places like Salzburg or Innsbruck.

Kvec1507 · 17/03/2023 20:31

I was looking at hintertux yesterday but couldn't work out what we could do there. The kids would love to try skiing but obviously would have to go when they have beginner sessions.
Azores looks beautiful too
I think Austria lakes would be ideal though! Any recommendations of places to stay?
I will have a look at the kinder Hotel.

We always go to Achensee - lots of hotels and apartments in places like Pertisau which have loads of activities. There's a high ropes/adventure place on the other side of the lake, lots of great hikes and lots of active stuff.

The only downside of that time of year is that the lake itself is still super cold. But my kids (eldest 11) absolutely love it.

Hintertux itself is mainly the mountain with the glacier / skiing / ice palace - if you have a car or possibly stay there Mayrhofen (about 45 mins drive away) has things like canyoning, rafting, via ferrata etc. Like this but take care where they go from, not all Mayrhofen.
