Thailand has more history

3days in Bangkok doing the sights. Then to the beach. If your adventurous you can island hop down to Koh Lipe which is lovely (hope to be there next week) then to Langkawi for a flight back to Bangkok then home.

Philippines have less history was invaded by the Spanish so very Christian and they speak spanish. Nice for a beach holiday. Better for diving.

Easy to get around both.

I'd choose Thailand anyday. Although we are in Malaysia at the moment for a change.

I'm in the Philippines right now, on a diving holiday in Anilao, and it's beautiful. It's our fifth visit 🙂🦀🐡

Did you book with agents or just book direct etc

We booked direct with the resort and organised the flights ourselves via the airline website.

I've been to both and Thailand has so much more to offer. Manila is just the worst city I've been to. Nightmare to get around and not a lot to see. The islands are beautiful and we loved that part of our Philippines trip but the quality of accommodation and the food culture were not even comparable with Thailand. It's a catholic country very influenced by the US and it just lacks the magic of Thailand or other SE Asian countries.

We use a avios points to score flights with Qatar. Always great service. And book resorts etc direct. I love Bangkok and we generally head to Phuket although chose your hotel and resort carefully

I did a few days stopover in Taipei before going down to the Philippines. Cebu, Siquijor and Bohol. All by boat. Had to negotiate Manila to fly home - wouldn't want to spend any length of time there. Humidity - nothing like I've ever experienced.

Thailand - I just think there's so much more up here explore in SE Asia rather than the obvious.

Ive been to both. Thailand is more varied but is very heavily touristed. Lots of Aussies and Russians. In Philippines I liked panglao island and bohol. Both Thailand and Philippines have awful problems with plastic marine pollution and dodgy animal rights abuses.

Can I make a suggestion. If it's beautiful beaches and underwater experiences like diving or whale watching you're after, then consider Polynesia (eg Cook Islands or Samoa). Beautiful, authentic culture and not spoiled.
