What's the quickest way i can get a 1st passport for my DD?

Thinking of going somewhere exciting at easter but my daughter doesnt yet have her passport - shes almost 9mo.
What's the quickest way of getting a passport, Easter is early and only 6 weeksish away.

Can you still go to a passport contre and spend the day queueing or is there an alternative that will def. get me a passport in 6 weeks?

6 weeks is probably plenty of time to apply by post.

Regular service is supposed to be about 3 weeks, PO Check and Send says to allow 2 weeks (not guaranteed) and Fast Track (1week, with an appointmnet )can still be used for children's first passports.

Just got them for dd and ds, I used PO check and send and got them back in just over a week.

You need the "guaranteed one week Fast Track service"
You make an appt at a passport office (no need to spend all day queuing) and they post it to you to arrive within 7 days - dd's arrived in 48hrs.

Used the "guaranteed one week Fast Track service" last year for ds2. Had given up all afternoon as thought it would take ages but was seen 5mins ahead of my appointment time and was dealt with in about 8mins!!!!! Spent rest of afternoon shopping as had left ds1&2 with dh.

I think it was only £40 each for check and send but I'd have to check that with dh as he paid.

no she doesn't , dh did mine last week.

I did check and send a couple of weeks ago for myself and in total it was £79.

Came back in 8 days.

Costs £7 to check and send - that is per passport.

6 weeks should be plenty of time to get the passport back - 2 weeks is normal at the moment.

by the way, if you need passport pictures, try www.paspic.com - you take your own digital pics at home, upload it to the site, they format the pics into passport size and check that they're going to be accepted by passport office. Then they ship them to you. Costs £3.50 I think and worth every penny - used it for my boys and it was a breeze in comparison to trying to get them into a booth

Oh yes it was £7 on top of the £40 ish for the passport
