Lake Como any good for families ?

I've got a 15 year old and a 10 year old and we are looking at either Italy or south France. I'm keener on France as I think we'd enjoy kayaking, castles, cities and a good mix for all of us. Husband more keen on Como but had only been in business and for a day! I think it looks beautiful (previous holiday was Garda and that was good ) but is it as busy as Garda with things to do and see?
All experience welcome please

When I went to Lake Como we thought it was absolutely beautiful. However the impression I got is that it’s fairly quiet and not that much to do with children or teenagers. We spent a lot of time looking at the beautiful changing scenery, drinking coffee/wine, and we swam in the lake. But this was fine for us ( middle aged, relaxing) less good if you need activities.

I'd love to do that but doubt they will
I'm now looking at Eurocamp which looks suspiciously cheap and Center Parcs in France. Talk about indecisive !!

Bella Italia Eurocamp on Lake Garda is one of my favourites. Right on the lake and a ten minute walk from beautiful, busy town with a castle called Peschiera di Garda. I've been several times. Garda is far better for families than Como, IMO but my kids are v young.

Have a look at Yelloh! Sites. We’ve stayed at quite a few over the years and this one would suit your children’s ages. Also has an adult only pool for when you want some peace away from it all!!

@Softsoftsleep How do you arrange flights etc if going to euro camp? Do you hire a car? And what’s the weather like in June… I

This looks lovely ! We'd fly drive I think. There's a teens kids club too. DS would be in his element if he could get past shyness

I second Yelloh Village for South France

Le Seignan Plage and Brasilia are two really popular ones.

Re: Italy you want Garda, or the Venetian Coast is another option. Como has romantic/couple vibes.

@SNWannabe I live in Italy so drive but you can hire a car at Malpensa or Bergamo Airport.

Agree with @yoshiblue about the venetian coast. There are some good camps near Caorle which is a great town and not far from Venice.

Sorry OP, just saw you did Garda. We go back to Garda a lot.
