Vietnam, summer months

We’re planning a trip to Vietnam for next year and the summer school holidays are really the only time we can go due to GCSEs, A levels.
We could do Christmas but I presume the flights will be more expensive?

My question is , how rainy is the rainy season which I think covers the UK school summer holidays?
We don’t mind a bit of rain as we’ve been to Florida in the summer many times.

I've been twice - both times in late July / August - it's a fantastic country. I honestly don't remember the rain being a problem, it might rain every other day or so but only for an hour or so - it's not as if it's just raining constantly.

I've been several times in July and August and it tends to absolutely heave it down for an hour or so, but is ok the rest of the time. Gives you an enforced rest in the mid-afternoon, which is ok. Very hot and humid though! It can make the travel slow as it floods roads, and occasionally rains for a whole day or so which is boring. Generally though if it's the only time you can go then still do it, just be prepared!

We've been in the summer holidays too. The South is humid but the only inconvenience is if it floods and the disruption to transport. We were lucky.

It is really hot and humid and it rarely rains all day long (Potential typhoon in North).
Central VN such as Danang/ Hoian, Hue , Dong Hoi/ Phong Nha cave… is good at that time (No or less rain).

Ive taken the kids to Vietnam in August and although humid, especially in the North, it was fine. I think we had a couple of days with very heavy rain for an hour or two, but it was nowhere near as much rain as we had in Florida one year.

Haha our last 3 holidays have been to Florida so we’re definitely used to heavy short (sometimes not so short) downpours.
