Albufeira recommendations

We are going to albufeira in 2 weeks for a week self catering.
Looking for recommendations on restaurants that are un-touristy and any other tips on things to do/places to go.
We are staying near to the strip (not our ideal location but got such a bargain for the holiday that it was too good to say no!)
We have a hire car and are happy to venture out.

Yes we did! We go home tomorrow but have had a wonderful time!
Tavira - amazing town and recommend getting the little ferry to the island - beach and lots of lovely restaurants.
quateria - has a market on a wed
vilamoura, gorgeous marina
monchique - up in the mountains, gorgeous views.
Dolphin & cave trip with the algar experience.
copos & petiscos restaurant in new town area
O Alentajo restaurant in old town
Porto de abrigo restaurant just round the corner from the marina (doesn’t look a lot from the outside but best fish I’ve ever had)

enjoy, it’s been really warm with a cardigan needed some evenings.

We stayed at natura algarve club. We had studio apartment which for 2 was plenty big enough.
Absolutely recommend it, cleaners every day and lovely apartment.
if you want quiet then go for street view.
walking distance of lots of nice restaurants
if you want party nights then maybe not the best place!!

@Charliebean Caroveiro is is gorgeous if you considering Portugal. It's a smaller resort with some really lovely restaurants.
