We're a family of three and my 15 year old DD will be a tad bored of us after a few days. Does anyone have any suggestions for a hotel / resort suitable? She's into pools, beaches and hanging out with friends.

Hey, We're going to aldemar knossos royal with our 2 younger kids!
the resort is huge, most family rooms come with a sharing pool but it does have multiple main pools throughout. It has a walkway to the beach and their own sunbeds that you can hire from reception. About 10-20 mins away there are the main beaches for watersports and boat trips. They have multiple places to eat within and a pool bar but they also have a strip of bars/food spots/ice cream spots close by. Theres a bus that takes you into the main nearby towns, theres also a waterpark that if you book with jet2 you can book the waterpark tickets in your excursions and get a free transfer from the hotel and back again😊

Have a look at Corfu, specially Agios Stefanos (NW) aka San Stefanos. Beautiful small village with plenty of tavernas. We always stay at the Hotel Athina, huge pool and right on the beach. We have been going for many years now, and our daughter 16, has made so many lifelong friends who go around the same time as we do. It really is a lovely place.

Depending on budget (it's not cheap) look at The Peligoni Club on Zante. Teenage heaven.

Aminess Maestral Hotel in Croatia or Grecotel Marine Palace in Crete

@CarmonEileen oh was looking for somewhere in Corfu for next year that wasn't AI and central to town with beach. Athina sounds good, not on sale for next year yet!

CarmonEileen · 13/03/2023 18:25

@mrsnjw the Athina is not in a town as such, the nearest would be Sidari which is very lively. We love San Stefanos as its so very safe for teens, the locals watch out for them all, its almost a hidden secret as hundreds if not more return year after year! They are with Jet2 I think next year, however, we always go independently and book flights separately, meaning that the family get all of the money when we stay and not a vastly reduced amount at the end of the season. Have you had a look at the hotel online? They have just upgraded all of the reception area and are building some new villas on the grassland to the side that look incredible!

Oh that's useful info. Are there enough bars and restaurants to explore for a week?

CarmonEileen · 13/03/2023 18:34

@mrsnjw oh absolutely, I've just had a quick look and it seems they aren't on sale yet, maybe the family haven't signed next year's contract yet.
There are more than enough bars/tavernas, 6 on the beach itself and probably 15 tavernas on the main road through the village, 3 towards the 'old' part of the village too. Cocktail bars, a creperie and the best Gyros you'll ever taste too! There are plenty of other lovely hotels, but we prefer the Athina, the teens love the water sports on the beach and the fact that they can go around the village safely.
