Mid May holiday with 3 yr old and 75yr old Mum...

So looking for a nice 4*+ holiday

Looking for nice weather in mid May, my son (who will be turning 3 in May) loves shallow splash pools with slides etc

I like the look of Royal Son Bou in Menorca but wonder if it would be hit and miss weather in May?

We stayed at VIVA Sunrise in Alcudia last year, son loved the pool and the nearby beach was lovely too (however wasn't keen on Alcudia as a resort) we also upgraded to a really good room which helped.

My SIL has recommended Gran Melia Palacio in Tenerife (but maybe a bit of a budget stretcher unless we go for the most basic rooms half board)

My main wants are hotels with decent balconies so we can chill when son goes to bed (interconnecting rooms with my Mum would be great, but not the same room as she snores for Britain and would like some privacy with DH), good childrens pool, nice beach and preferably a bit of local culture nearby. (Hate the Butlins abroad type resorts) short haul flights from Manchester.

£3k budget preferably but could stretch.

Thanks in advance!

Have you looked at Pollenca on Majorca? Maybe you want to try somewhere else. But we thought Pollenca was lovely, we used to get the bus there to escape from Alcudia. Must say, Alcudia was the worst mistake of a place to stay in our history of holidays.

How about the Tui Magic Life in Pizzo, Calabria?

We did day trips to puerto pollensa and pollensa and love it, however think we want to try somewhere different to mallorca and don't think there's any hotels in that resort that tick my boxes anyway. Maybe in a few more years when shallow paddling pools with slides are less of a requirement. _

Thanks for the suggestion, have you been in mid May before, I'm looking at the reviews on tripsdvisor and some of the ones from May are a bit iffy. X

Zafiro Palma Nova has a brilliant splash pool.

@PrinnyPree oh no I haven't actually - sorry I didn't realise there were bad reviews in previous May's overall it looked good to me.

Weather wise I'd probably look at Greece in mid-May. Rhodes?

As above I'm probably looking for somewhere different to Mallorca as we went last year, thankyou for the suggestion though. :)

Yes I think Greece, Canaries, Turkey, Cyprus etc might be a bit more reliable for some sun. I like Rhodes and stayed in Lindos old town about 8 years ago so might be a contender. :)
