Evening,

Heading to Malta in a couple weeks for my 30th 🎉 wondered if anyone has any recommendations for my time there, both to celebrate and in general?

Thanks

i went to Valletta in November and loved it! The Gomerino hotel was gorgeous and the spa was lovely so get yourself booked in for a nice treatment. We ate at The Harbour Club for my husbands birthday which was incredible and felt very occasion-y, perfect for a 30th birthday celebration. Stop off for some cocktails at Cafe Society en route. The public buses are pretty good, would recommend a day in Mdina and Marxaloxx (sp?) and get the public ferry across the bay to explore the three cities.

we had a fab holiday, it’s a wonderful place. Happy birthday 🥳

Nip across to Gozo which is quite sweet. A bit ramshackle, but it has a lot of charm.

It is a wonderful city. If you are interested in war history go and see the war rooms.
The cathedral is beautiful and it is worth going to see the Carravagio there if you are interested in art.

I meant island not city.

i enjoyed looking in the churches in valletta - apart from the cathedral (go to this as soon as it opens as queues are long) there are lots of tiny, very old, churches worth going into. The boat trip round the bays was also very good.

There are some interesting underground places you can visit, including the Hypogeum (book in advance, might be sold out already) and tunnels and catacombs in various places. Some prehistoric temples, if you like that kind of thing (I do!) Valletta and the Three Cities (you can get there by shuttle ferry from Valletta) are incredibly picturesque.

Thank you for all the suggestions! Much appreciated everyone. I have another Q, just want to confirm that Malta also uses 3 pin plugs right? So no need for me to bring an adapter?

Everything online says so but have a friend who went to Malta 10 years ago haha who advised I do, however, she also can’t remember if she used one there herself…
