Stalida in Crete…anyone been?

Has anyone been to Stalida in Crete? If so, is it a nice area? Thinking of booking a holiday for August there for me, DP & 2 DD’s.

Not much help at the minute but we are going in May and we have never been to Crete before. My Dad recommended it to us as he has been a few times and it was one of the few places that I could find with a good beach front location.

We went there 5 or 6 years ago.

we had a good time. It’s a bit touristy but not too brits abroad. Plenty of tavernas and shops to wander around.

the sea was a bit rough on the main beach for several days when we were there, but the water water up by the Ikaros hotel was lovely.

it’s a good base. We booked trips locally to the water park, spinalonga, Heraklion and Knossos.

Same for us @beakyboo10 we wanted a nice beach front.
I’ve heard lots of good things about Crete though. Can you report back after your holiday. Hope you have a nice time 😃

Thanks @Ohhelpicantthinkofaname i’m looking forward to the little tavernas & shops. I’ve read that it’s a good base so that was another pro for us. We will definitely be doing a water park & a few other outings.
