Easter sun break

Thinking of a week in the sun for family of four (DC 6 and 4) at Easter. Haven’t done this sort of holiday before - usually stay in the UK round Easter and go abroad in the summer.

Have seen people on here mentioning Lanzarote, Tenerife,Gran Canaria.

Would love some really specific recommendations for destinations and places to stay.

Ideally able to do a mix of self catering and eating out. Water park. Warm. Ideally with some sort of little town nearby.

Costa Adeje in Tenerife would be my pick if you want to be near a beach. Nicer IMO than Playa Las Americas and the other beach areas further east. Hotel Suites Villa Maria could be a good option as a place to stay although might be more hotelly than you want (has a kids club etc).

There are water parks, they’re in a different area closer to the airport but a fairly short drive or bus away. Loro Parque is a fantastic zoo also worth a day trip.

I prefer Lanzarote and think the beaches are a million times nicer than those of Tenerife and Gran Canaria. Specifically, I’d recommend Club Santa Rosa if you want to self cater. It’s within walking distance of the centre of Costa Teguise, which has the biggest waterpark on the island, plus an aquarium.
