Copenhagen with young teens - tips?

Just booked nights in Copenhagen in late May - taking 12 and 13 yr old DCs. Any recommendations for must see and dos? What did you love?
Also I know it’s very expensive to eat out which is such a shame as it’s something we love doing as a family. Did you find any cheap gems?!

Did this last year: top hits were Tivoli in the evening, the National Museum and Louisiana which is a fabulous modern art museum a train ride up the coast, with a good value cafe.

Food wise we were in an air b and b so ate in sometime to subsidise the nice meals

Yes Tivoli is a definite. Glad the museum is good too. Thanks.

We did this a few years ago. The Guineas World Record museum is small, but really interesting. Lots to see, touch and compare.

We did a boat trip on the canals too, to see lots you can't see from the street, including the (underwhelming) little mermaid.

We spent about an hour in the Lego shop too, but that might be specific to our kids! 🤣

Guinness (not guineas! 🤦🏻‍♀️)

We did Tivoli on NYE. Check the opening dates though.
Boat trip on the canals.
The zoo was quite good.
We did ice skating too but presume that's a non starter in May.
Eating out was quite expensive but we did find a couple of decent all you can eat places. Have a look on Trip Advisor.

Thank you so much everyone. I think my kids would like the Lego store even though they don’t play with it at home anymore. And definitely the Guinness records museum! Awesome!

Louisiana Museum and Gallery is, as said above, lovely. And there are a couple castles quite near by including Frederiksborg Slot which is stunning, and Helsingor.
