We went to wells it was compact and had nice restaurant and cafes

They’re pretty portable at that age so just do what you’d normally do.

Wherever you want to go. At 6 months they slot in anywhere. I’d pick something for you and enjoy this time before they become more demanding

You could go most places but just remember the needs for naps and if that's going to be in a pram you need lots of flat area!

Yes at 6mth they are little and in a pram, chose for yourself
do pick somewhere easy with a pram (unless you like steep inclines)

How far are you willing to travel (assume driving?), and where from?
I don’t entirely agree that babies that age fit in anywhere…..sharing a hotel room with them is less than ideal if they go to bed early and sleep in a dark, quiet room…….backpacking across the Scottish highlands, probably not…….flat places, ermmm lots of people bring up babies just fine in hilly places!!
i’d go self catering somewhere that has lots to see and do in all weathers.

Take the time to do things you like. We shuffled DD around a lot in pram or back carrier.

The more important bit for us was accomodation. DD wasn't an easy baby to take out in the evenings so we always had a self catering option where she could sleep properly and we had a nice relaxing evening.
We went out for meals at lunch and just had small dinners in the evening.

Thank you all . We are Manchester based and looking for somewhere maximum of 2 hours away if say. All recommendations have been helpful 🙂

2 hours from Manchester gives you north wales, the Lake District, Peak District and the Yorkshire dales, North Yorkshire moors at a push depending on exactly where you go so loads of options!

Agree with the others, take advantage while they’re still little and everything is amazing, and go somewhere you want to go. Soon they start having opinions 🤣
