Is Faliraki in Rhodes dead now?

When I was in my early twenties it was the destination of choice for youngsters who wanted fun in the sun at affordable prices. Not aa good clubs as Ibiza and Ayia Napa but a hell of a lot cheaper! I know that it tends to be Zante, Kavos and Malia for the lads and girls holidays these days.

We are going on a family holiday to Rhodes in the summer. Our hotel is equal distance between Faliraki and Rhodes town. I mentioned to 17yr old DD how it used to be the place for bars and clubs when I was young and she reckons she’s gonna go clubbing while we’re out there. But is there anything going on there these days? Would she be better in Rhodes town?

Yes it's quiet now. I went in 2006 and it was crazy (can't remember a lot of it) but it was the classic party holiday, out all night, packed bars and clubs.

I went last year, was nice but lots of bars are closed, and there was no clubs that I saw. We had a lovely time but that was a because our hotel was AI and lovely, if we were self catered we would have struggled to eat.

I can remember drinking a silly amount of goldfish bowl cocktails on Bar Street and puking for 11 hours straight. 27 years later and I still shudder.
