Looking to go away with my sister for my birthday, would love to do a short safari but unfortunately that’s way over budget! Anyone have any brilliant recommendations for a special trip??? Budget around £3000 for the two of us. Thanks

How long do you want to go for? Beach or city?

It’s the perfect time of year to visit Mauritius. If you avoid the half term holidays, a quick search has 7 nights all inclusive for £1,700 per person (using Best At Travel). Adding on a few extra nights doesn’t increase the prices by very much.

Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon
Elephant Hills in Thailand
San Francisco to San Diego driving down the coast

@NeverNaughtyNanna
If you like the idea of a safari but it is too expensive, you could look at wildlife closer to home. Wildlife Worldwide has European ideas.

You could enjoy lovely hotels and scenery in Scotland or go a bit further to somewhere like Morocco where it will be warm.

Las Vegas? We couldn’t wait to leave. However you could try Iceland. There are trips out from Reykjavik and October is coldish but doable. You might also find whales in the Azores. They mostly have gone from Iceland.

You could also do a Norwegian trip. Hurtigruten might interest you. Or a big ship is definitely ok. Check where ships are in early October. You might find European river trips are in your price range too. Good luck with choosing.

Personally I'd book a cruise to Norway out of Southampton. You should be able to get something for around the £1000 pp mark leaving you budget for tours, drinks etc. there's different companies with different characters depending on your taste but they are all good in my experience

The last P&O cruise to Norway out of Southampton is 16 Sept. You would need to look further South I think. Med area probably.

Loving theses ideas, thank you. Just to clarify we have to travel between 21st October and 5th November as I work in a school and this is half term. Definitely not a beach holiday but would consider an interesting city break, would really love to see some wildlife so will check out the wildlife worldwide and Elephant Hills suggestions.
