We're planning on doing x2 overnight stops on the way once we get to Calais.

Any recs on where to stay? Ideally rural France and pretty.

Tips also welcome :)

Relais des Landes is a good hotel in a pretty area of the Loire. Duplex family rooms, plenty of space to stretch your legs, board games available from reception and an all-important heated pool!
Another one the we like in the Loire is Hotel Ricordeau. Always been super
for the dc www.hotel-ricordeau.fr/en/hotel.html#
Further south, we love the pretty town of Carennac. There’s a fair choice of places to stay and a little waterpark very nearby (Parc de loisirs la Saule).

Thanks - will check these out. There will be just the 2 of us and no children this time but will still look.
