'Easy' toddler holiday abroad

Trying to plan our first holiday abroad as a family. Our last non UK trip was as a couple in July 2019 where we rented a villa with family near Faro. We now have two kids who will be 3 and 2 when we go away in September time

At the moment I'm thinking Portugal/Spain/Balearics for the shorter flight time and not too hot weather.

I've sort of come to terms with the fact that it will not be like holidays of old relaxing and reading books but I would like to try and relax a bit!

So looking for hotel recommendations where it was 'easy' to keep your toddler happy - good splash pool, beach etc walkable. Would also be good to know if you've found all inclusive better at this age?

Go for a resort with a kids club and crèche included so you can relax a bit. I definitely recommend Royal Son Bou

This.

And agree in advance with your partner ( assuming they are the children other parent ) how much child free time you will each get. If you don’t discuss this in advance it often defaults to one parent having all day free to do what they want and offering to “ help “ the other parent by watching the children for an hour or two each day. While the other parent has responsibility for the children 22 hours a day.

If you think that you are likely to be the second type of parent , do not assume the it will all work out without a discussion .

Check that the crèche caters to under 3s.

Pine cliffs is lovely.

I prioritise accommodation with a separate area so I’m not sat in the dark in silence at 7pm.
