Thinking of going here as I’ve been told it’s not that commercialised or high end for the Caribbean. Anyone been?

We went last summer and it was lovely. It’s not commercialised at all, that’s very true. You have to look at both sides of that though. we went on a boat trip to the reef and there were absolutely no safety precautions whatsoever. In fact the captain was drinking from a bottle of rum the whole afternoon.

We had an amazing time. No sunbed pressure by the pool. Amazing food and very friendly people. We walked to the beach and it felt completely safe. Probably safer than getting a taxi actually as the driving has a lot to be desired. One of my dc was freaking out on the way from the airport as there was no seatbelts and the other dc was asking if they could take their driving test their as there “looks like less rules” so it depends on your personality.

Haha! I love the different attitudes of your kids. Think I’m closer in thinking to your first dc.

How expensive did you find it? We are thinking of going in June or maybe early July. What was the weather like when you went?

The weather was great. We went mid august. You need to wear a hat I’d say walking along the street but it wasn’t too hot to walk. It rained on one day probably about four times but only for five to ten minutes. It rains really hard but the rain isn’t cold and everything just dries straight away afterwards. We were in the pool on one of the times.
