First adult passport confusion

Hi

I'm very confused with the forms for applying for a passport

I had a child passport about 20-23 years ago

Well lost during that time and have never had an adult passport

Doing the form online for first adult passport it says have u had a passport before, if I say yea it wants to know the details or report it lost! Am I supposed to be doing a renewal cos technically I had one before or a first adult passport form?

I recently did mine. I was on my parents passport years ago.

I put no. I called them and they said if I'd ever had adult passport, to put no.

You will also need an interview.

As you had a child passport you do a renewal. Report the old one lost and just put on the application that was an expired child passport.

You will need a countersignature so try and think of someone you can use.

And I don't think you will need an interview as that's usually for someone applying for an adult passport that's never had a child passport

Your case is different as you never had a passport of your own. OP had a child passport so her birth certificate, etc has already been provided.
