If you have two passports, a UK one and one for another country

The UK one will have a page with a message along the lines of 'additional information: this person holds a [country] passport whose document number is XXXXX and which expires on XX/XX/XX'

If you have had to renew this passport, do you need to have this page updated in your UK passport?

The government website seems to say you only need to update your passport if you change your name, gender or appearance but I thought I'd double check just in case this may cause problems when traveling!

The closest I can find on the website is that you do not need to change your passport if you become a national of another country but it's not totally the same.

I'm going to check with my dual national friend. They ask for the information for the Identity Database, but I didn't think it was printed in the passport itself

I’m a UK citizen by birth and also Australian. I’ve renewed my UK passport since acquiring Australian citizenship and it doesn’t have that in it.

Other than Place of Birth, my UK passport has nothing that might even hint that I have dual nationality.

My two passports don't have any reference to the other.

It would kind of defeat the purpose of having both, if they each referred to the other.

Another dual national and mine does not have that. I have Kiwi and UK passports.

The note is only if your other passport is in a different name www.gov.uk/government/publications/additional-passports/additional-passports-accessible#what-additional-passports-are (about a third of the way down this page under “observations showing dual citizenship” so most passports won’t have that. OP you probably will need to contact a passport office to get advice on this one
