Good evening,
Can anyone please tell me the part of Mallorca that might suit us best
We are a mature couple , like walking, history nice views.
Snorkelling
I would like a nice hotel with a pool in an area which is not too lively but also has a nice atmosphere in the evenings.
Good restaurants to walk to.

Have a look at Cala san Vicente area. Can't remember specific hotel but nice area I think would tick your boxes. Not too lively. Lovely swimming and scenery.

There are lots of lovely options. My favourite is the north - you might like the old town of Pollensa (this is reputedly Queen Sophia of Spain’s (mother of current king) favourite place on Mallorca. Nice starting point for walks - climb up to the Puig Maria. However, I’m not sure the boutique hotels there have pools. We stay at the port - Puerto Pollensa - at the sea a few miles away. Very clean water. The Hoposa hotels, especially the Uyal are lovely - but it sounds like you’d prefer May, June or September/ October to the summer rush. Google Puerto pollensa pine walk - very beautiful and the Via Calvari steps in old town Pollensa. You’d also only be a few miles there from old town Alcudia which is a magnificent Roman walled town.
For something more rural, the prettiest village in the hills is said to be Valldemossa. Deia is also lovely. Personally I am not a huge fan of Soller or Port de Soller as they are so busy and touristy at least in summer; the same goes for Cala d’or. Pollensa and port and far more authentic and pretty / swept up in my view. You might also like Arta. Generally though, I don’t think you can go wrong. If you don’t like where you end up, you’ll find somewhere pretty a very short distance away.

Soller/Port de Soller
Valdemossa
Alcudia (the town, not the port)
Pollensa
Palma

Soller or Puerto Pollensa.

I’ve got relatives in Mallorca so have been there a LOT. I’m in my 40s now and this is where we will be going on our next few visits. We’ve got young children (and a willing babysitter in Mallorca - woohoo) and it’s got enough going on for us without us feeling the need to go into Alcudia or Pollensa, where it’s a bit livelier
