Romantic France/Italy campsite for honeymoon

We are getting married in June and now have a toddler and a baby to bring on our honeymoon (thanks covid delayed wedding!) They'll be 3 and 10 months. I think a week or two in a cabin type thing in a campsite somewhere warm with a little playground would be perfect for us. My husband to be doesn't drive so ideally somewhere with an easily walkable beach/lake. But Eurocamp is probably not quite the romantic vibe we're after! Does anyone have any ideas? South of France/Italy ideally!

We drove there but we stayed at Camp du domaine near St Tropez on our honeymoon for a couple of days. (We did a French/Italian road trip all over the place). It had its own little vineyard and private beach, we didn’t have kids at the time but there were lots of families around. It was lovely.

Realistically, with a baby and a toddler you're not going to have a romantic "honeymoon". That ship has sailed! Pick somewhere suitable for young children, and if your husband doesn't drive, you don't want long drives yourself.
How about looking at gites? What's your budget?

Cosycamp in the Auvergne or Huttopia Dieulefit

Thanks all! Camp du domaine looks wonderful - we road tripped and camped around there pre babies too and it was so great.

Yes of course, expectations of actual romance are long gone, but if we can steal 5 minutes to have a quiet coffee under a pine tree before the kids wake up that will do!

Budget: ideally about £1000 for the week including flights! Who knew having babies made you so poor...

Can you leave the kids behind with family? That would broaden your options and actually be romantic.

Firecat84 · 16/02/2023 20:33

Ahh we could leave one of them behind, but I love those little guys, I wouldn't want to!

Bella italia campsite, Lake Garda would be a good option without a car as you can get bus or ferry all around lake. Beautiful views and towns. Can visit verona and Venice by bus/train.
