Assume you're flying? We flew last year and didnt need luggage labels, although travel agent still gave them to us, just to confuse the issue i think!
When you check in labels are put on your luggage with all information on.

i thought so.. but i think i still feel the need to put a label on...then i feel like i'm going!!!

I did previous year! I put name, address, destination, flight no. Think that's it. Happy holiday!

Never put your home address! It advertises that your home is unoccupied. I put my surname, destiation city and country, and destination phone nos on luggage labels.

PrettyCandles · 08/02/2008 14:26

Oh, and flight no.

they normally give them to you with your tickets and they have boxes to fill in:

outbound:
flight no
resort
hotel

homebound:
flight no
home postcode
phone no

RTKangaDYSONMummy · 08/02/2008 14:37

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PUT LABELS ON YOUR LUGGAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And put a sheet of paper on the inside of the case on the roof/lid of the case/bag

Outbound:

NAME
AIRLINE + FLIGHT NUMBER
HOTEL
RESORT

and when you are coming home INBOUND:

NAME
AIRLINE + FLIGHT NUMBER
ADDRESS
PHONE NUMBER

Also useful is to put a mobile number and email address that you can access while away from hotel computer eg. GOOGLEMAIL or HOTMAIL

Have a great flight

Another top tip (although not for labels) is to e-mail yourself a list of important nos eg passport nos, credit card plus the no you phome if you lose it, insurance nos etc. Then if a wallet, suitcase goes missing you can access the details. If you do all that then you are ceratin to never need them!

Enjoy your holiday!

Also take photos of your luggage so that you can identify it if it gets lost

Cos they will show you some photos and ask you to choose the case or bag that looks most like your own

When we went to Cook Islands last year one of our bags was left in Sydney and we had to show them on their photo id thingy what our bag looked like

And it appeared early the next morning at the reception in our hotel {they got it to us via the night flight}

Air New Zealand are deffo brill
