Kusadasi is over 1000km from the earthquake zone.

I've been yes but it was a few years ago. There's a big waterpark that your kids might enjoy. The beaches are nice I think although we stayed a little out of town and our hotel was on it's own little beach so I didn't really go on any others. It's VERY good for the "genuine fakes" shopping if you're wanting any of that. Just avoid going shopping when the cruise ships are in if you can. Its busy and they put the prices up.

We went for the day. Lots and lots of fake handbags in shops on one main strip. All owned by the same man we were told.
We also spent a few hours at Ephesus which was much more impressive.

Turkey is a huge country. It would be like not going to London because there had been an earthquake in Rome.

We stayed just outside Kusadasi and it was lovely.

Earthquakes can be common there though - when we were there we experienced about 6 one day including a 4.5 while eating lunch. The staff didn't even flinch!

Went for one day, nice town nice people, a bit of mither with sales men but just be polite and firm.
