Disney Paris at Easter

Will it be ridiculously busy?? Has anyone been over Easter? Looking to go last minute and looking at Easter or the weekend before going via euro tunnel. Kids are 3 and 4 so thinking do 3 nights but only 2 days in the park as that will be enough for them? Never been before so have no idea what we're doing! Thank you

It’s crazily busy but the weather is pretty good - not too hot and not too cold.

curtains22 · 13/02/2023 15:19

Do you think there'd be much difference in terms of busyness last weekend of March vs Easter?

Yes - almost every school in Europe has Easter weekend off. Can’t say the same about the last week in March.

hulahoopqueen · 13/02/2023 15:38

If it's between the two, yes, definitely go for the last weekend in March. Easter will be horrifically busy.
Honestly though I would look at pushing it forward slightly to get better value, better weather and less crowding - late April or early May would be gorgeous. Because of the area, when it's windy or cold it's REALLY windy or cold, so take all sorts of layers!
If you're booking directly via Disney, your tickets will automatically be one more day in the parks than you're paying for hotel nights, so 2 nights will generally be 3 park days. If you do go when it's busier, then 3 park days to make sure you can take it all in and don't need to rush to get the rides/experiences in that you want to do will definitely be better than 2.

May half term is better. The UK are the only country on half term so it's not too horrific!

MaoamAddict · 13/02/2023 15:44

We booked a weekend in late April last year after the Easter hols, took the kids out of school for 2 days and saved over £1k

curtains22 · 13/02/2023 15:52

Just checked again and price wise isn't not much different but if it's going to be crazy busy on Easter weekend we might as well go the weekend before. I also checked for mid week later in April and it wasn't much cheaper- maybe because it's last minute

Where did you look at prices? Everywhere I looked was mad expensive for Easter.

curtains22 · 13/02/2023 16:01

I was looking on the Disney website direct. The two weekends were the same price.
Both v pricey tbh

“May half term is better. The UK are the only country on half term so it's not too horrific!”

We had that plan last year and it was full every day. During the week it felt manageable but busy. The weekend days felt much harder work. Post covid I think it has just been really busy so you probably won’t get any weekends during spring/summer that are quiet as such. Just be prepared for it to be at max capacity and work around that.

Do you think the fast track pass makes a big difference? Thanks all

You need to check crowd calendars.

But yes, Easter is their busiest time of year after Christmas, almost on the same par.

Bunnycat101 · 13/02/2023 18:05

Yes fast track can be really good. We used them selectively (mainly so my husband could do big rides while I waited with the kids who were too small). He was on pretty instantly but the prices are higher at peak times.

We are going in the second week of May with our 4 year old. I thought the fast track passes have been discontinued now? Fairly sure that I read that somewhere...

NoDairyNoProblem · 13/02/2023 18:28

Every weekend is busy, Easter especially so.

The following year we went on Easter Monday (arriving in time for character dinner at Mickeys cafe) and stayed until the Friday. It was noticeably quieter on the Thursday.

You are confusing Walt Disney World (in Florida) and Disneyland Paris.

WDW swapped Fast Pass for Lightning Lane.

DLP has Premier Access, which is essentially Fast Pass.

They don’t do fast pass anymore at Disneyland paris

curtains22 · 13/02/2023 19:51

@MelaniesFlowers this is what I meant, the fast access

Yeah I figured 😊 @brainstories568 was confusing WDW and DLP.

Daisypod · 13/02/2023 21:23

Any weekend you go is going to be very busy. With kids that young can you go in term time? Midweek in term time is so much better as much quieter.
