Self-guided tulip weekend with cycling in Netherlands

We'd like to go next year but just trying to get an idea of the best way to do it over a long weekend - probably a May bank holiday. We could go via Eurostar or fly from London. We'd like to do some cycling and a mooch in Amsterdam too but must see the tulips! Can anyone advise what's best to see/avoid etc in connection with the tulips please?

Haven't done any cycling there myself, or travelled through the whole Bollenstreek (bulbfields) but re. the tulips, they're usually at their best in mid- to late April.

Assuming you're planning on visiting Keukenhof as part of your trip, a flower parade passes by the gardens on a Saturday in late April, so that might be something you'd like to see, but bear in mind the area is incredibly busy that day and often on weekends generally. Don't know what the 2024 parade date will be. Keukenhof is usually open from around mid-March to mid-May.

Have you seen this page from the Dutch tourist board?

For Amsterdam, King's Day, a bank holiday, is on Saturday 27th April next year. If you're keen on seeing the city in full celebratory mood, that's the day to go:-) Remember to wear something orange!

So much to see and do in Amsterdam whenever you're there. There's a small Tulip Museum too. I went by Eurostar and did Keukenhof as a day trip from there. Hopefully others can advise how best to tour the bulbfields by bike.

Hope the link above works.
