I really fancy going to San Francisco. Shall we go on a trip?

I have far too much work, the house is in an absolute state, no-one has done any food shopping this week and the washing seems to have mutated into a huge monster pile that has crawled out of the washing basket and down the passage (sigh).

look doesn't it look dreamy?

I love San Francisco. But right now I want to go somewhere HOT.

foxinsocks · 08/02/2008 09:58

ooh yes, that sounds divine. Then we can come back and have a huge breakfast on the beach.

Last time dh was there, he got lost and called me up and I found him a map online . He kept saying 'ooh I'll just pop into this art gallery for a bit and then call you back'

foxinsocks · 08/02/2008 10:00

ooh look. It's not on the beach, but I reckon this place looks good for breakfast.

CountessDracula · 08/02/2008 10:04

We did a house swap
It was great

Got a car and accom. free

Jetlag bloody awful though. Kept falling asleep mid pm and waking up at 2am!

Did stay in the city a couple of nights at the Triton hotel which was fun

foxinsocks · 08/02/2008 10:06

Didn't realise you'd done the house swapping thing before - what a good idea.

Have you got plans for your holidays this year cd?

We stayed here last time we went. It was wonderful.

foxinsocks · 08/02/2008 10:12

oh that looks beautiful. Makes me think of a Carl Hiaasen novel (wrong area but it's the type of place he likes to write about!).

Hotel Triton looks gorgeous - I love city centres. And it's only a short stroll from Nob Hill.

Oh yes it was great

We swapped with two photographers so we got a fab place in Benicia (a bit outside in the Bay Area, you could get a hydrofoil thingy into the City it was awesome!) and an apartment in Berkeley too. We also had his car and went up to wine country then down the coast to San Jose (FAB), Carmel, Big Sur etc. It was a great trip. Then 4 days in NYC with friends on the way back. Ahhh bliss!

This year we are off to Tobago in 10 days (broken rib permitting). Half term summer term we are house swapping with HMC I think.

Summer a bit of a problem. VG friends getting married in West Virginia (ffs) on 26 July so we will have to go for that. We were thinking of going for a week before and going somewhere else with a bunch of mates but we can't seem to find anywhere very inspiring that won't involve lots of travel in the US. So we may go on our own (ie leave dd) and then go to S of France for a couple of weeks in Aug. All rather up in the air at the moment though which is frustrating.

foxinsocks · 08/02/2008 10:20

should be ok in 10 days? is it broken right through or just cracked.

They are bloody painful things to break. I remember ex boyf of mine breaking some playing rugby and he cried huge big tears whenever he sneezed for a few weeks!

OP posts:
CountessDracula · 08/02/2008 10:21

cracked
It is already better than it was though seems worse again yesterday and today. Yes sneezing is BAD

We are going to wait til last minute and cancel it then if is still bad

foxinsocks · 08/02/2008 10:25

Have you thought about Chicago (from West Virg)?

OP posts:
foxinsocks · 08/02/2008 10:30

and hope your rib gets better in time!

OP posts:
foxinsocks · 08/02/2008 10:34

ooh actually, let's stay in one of these houses with a porch and a balcony (sigh)
