I'm going to Prague for 5 days in April. Any recommendations of best touristy things to do please? It will be me and my 19yo DD. Thanks

Go to the opera- it's super cheap and mega historical/ glamorous. You may be lucky about what's on when you go. I also loved the klementinum library. I like Prague though, there's loads to do. The castle is also good- usually quite a bit on up there too!

Drinks at the top of the dancing house. Surprisingly cheap, fab views.

Museum of Communism.

Jewish quarter.

Just walking for miles.

An absintherie.

I love Prague. Enjoy.

Petrin Funicular Railway - great views from the top and it's a nice park/ open space to walk round

Agree, Petrin Hill is really nice (make sure you validate your ticket if taking the funicular as quite a few tourists get caught out by inspectors and fined). Other tourist stuff includes the astronomical clock, the Charles Bridge, ride a tram car (I think tram route 41 runs in April), take a boat trip. Consider a walking tour too, there are a few companies offering walks if you research but this guy was excellent www.livingpraguetours.com (happy to send you a link to the TA review I did).

Op, is this your first time visiting Czech Republic?
I'm Czech, can answer any questions.:)

I would recommend to visit different cities as well.

April may be still quite cold in there or not really depends.

What do you and your daughter like?
There's so much to see.

Went a few years ago in Easter holidays . We came across classical music concerts in churches and went to those. We didn't really plan in advance, just looked and decided on the spot. Neither of us did much research. I would advise checking out the weather. When we went I was equipped with jumpers etc and it was unseasonably warm. Have a great time.

South Czech Republic is very beautiful and picturesque, you can get a train to get there even for a a few days or a day if you like to.

Get bus up to the castle, explore round there then walk back down the hill for a wander around Mala Strana. Find the John Lennon Wall. Boat trip. Self guided tour of the Jewish Quarter. Petrin Hill. Coffee or cocktails at the Obecni Dum. Brunch at the Cafe Imperial.

We did a walking tour with an amazing guide called Andrea. She was very knowledgeable and obviously loves her city. It was a Sandeman's tour. Well worth doing early on in your trip to find your way around.

@wickerhearth Hi, I’m in Prague for a few days, for the first time soon.

I’ve kept a note of the places you’ve recommended above, thanks for those!

Just wondering how I’ll get on there with being a vegetarian in the main, I don’t mind some fish.

Any quirky eating places?
