DS1 is about to go to uni to read Spanish, DS2 is in Year 12 doing A-level Spanish. Unbelievably, we have never been to Spain so we need to put that right this August.

Any recommendations for nice seaside hotels in a small town where they can practise their Spanish? We not looking for touristy places that will be overrun with Brits obvs!

We went to the area around Barcelona once which, whilst absolutely lovely, contained a lot of Catalan speakers/language so not so good for that purpose.

We also went to Malaga/Cadiz which was more successful.

So many amazing places, hopefully someone can recommend a small town for you.

Have a look at Cudillero and Ribadesella.

The North is a good call - Asturias, Galicia, Cantabria. Less English spoken and also less baking in August.

I wouldn't go to the south of Spain in August, it will be far too hot. (I have a house there). What about Easter, or May half term?
