Beach and city combo (or lake and city)

So we have always enjoyed a combination of destinations on holiday. We like to be active and have plenty to do!

We have enjoyed:
Sorrento and Rome
Lake Garda and Venice
Port Aventura and Barcelona
Lake Annecy and Geneva
Cascais and Lisbon

We have also had had a combined trip of Berlin and Amsterdam so have been there recently.

Any suggestions? I was considering Zell am see and a city, I’d like to see Salzburg maybe or Vienna, but am a bit worried about the weather as we do love the sunshine!

Or anywhere that’s a great base with cities/ landmarks to visit?

Went last year, loads to do and the city is stunning!

We're currently in Valencia. City and beach.

Ljubljana and Lake Bled?

Also Malaga/Seville/Granada vs beaches on Costa del Sol.

Pisa/Florence and beaches such as Viareggio.

Dubrovnik and Croatian islands?
