First family holiday abroad

DH and I want to take our boys away in September/October for a week. They'll be 1 and 3 by then.

Can anyone recommend a good holiday resort for kids that age? Ideally in Spain but would consider other places.

We'd like to keep the flight under 3.5hrs from Scotland with a short (under an hour) transfer to the hotel/apartment.

Bumping as I'm interested in responses too. We're trying to plan our first holiday abroad (though different ages at 8, 5 and 2). It's so overwhelming and as things can be very expensive you don't want to make a mistake.

I think with that flight time you'll be limited to mainland Spain and the Balaerics because places like the Canaries, Cyprus, Greece and Turkey are all about 4-4.5hours from Scottish airports.
I can't recommend a specific resort but have a look at jet2 holidays, they seem to offer a decent range of options from Scottish airports and you can search by more than one location and filter on facilities such as "splashpark"

and Jet2 have a decent baggage allowance included!

I always preferred a villa with a rental car when mine were that age. Loved the Algarve, mallorca or Spain....keep going past Benidorm!

Los pinguanos in Son Bao Menorca was an easy holiday with our kids.
