Kos or Gran Canaria in May / June

Has anyone visited both? Or either?

Trying to decide between 2 holidays and looking for opinions.

Is Gran Canaria cooler in May?

I have visited both. I didn't like Kos too much but I went in the May half term and it wasn't hot. At night it was quite chilly.

Gran Canaria and most of the Canaries are hot in May/ June.

For me, GC was hotter in May than Kos.

I found Gran Canaria utterly boring, but I haven’t been to Kos to compare, sorry!

We went to Kos end of June and it was very warm but not uncomfortably hot. It did get chillier in the evening. Kos town was lovely and we did a few excursions. I found the sea quiet choppy though so we didn't get in.

Been to canaries several time. I like Puerto Rico. It's pretty much always warm in the canaries and prob warmer there than Kos.

Stayed in Amadores ( next to Puerto Rico) in GC in April - loved it very warm 👍

Stayed in Tingaki in Kos early May - lovely warm temperatures during day, cooler at night, but both sea and pool were freezing.

Apparently June & Sept are best for Kos day and water temperatures.

For me personally Kos wins - Found the Greeks friendlier, the atmosphere at night calmer with very reasonable meal deals on offer, Kos Town is worth a visit and a hire car will take you all around the island ( although buses are cheap too) and up into beautiful mountain villages 😊

You can also take a day trip across to Rhodes or Bodrum in Turkey.

Tingaki has a salt flat 5 minutes walk away where wild flamingoes gather before migrating - We saw hundreds in May and that was pretty special ❤️

I tend to holiday in The Canaries more through Winter season and the Greek Islands early and late summer

Only my personal preference though And sure many votes will be for GC.

We've been to both a number of times.

It very much depends on which resort!

Well personally I'd go to Kos if it's out of those two resorts.

Me too. I think our resort was in Playa des Ingles too. It's one of the few holidays we've been bored enough to want to come home early.

Personally, give me Portugal or Majorca any day but, in fairness, that's not the question asked!
