Hi, I need help

Has anyone been to Ixia in Rhodes ?

Just put a deposit down on a holiday in Exeter in Rhodes. The pool looks amazing really peaceful and there isn't much in my price range. There are six of us travelling and this has been 6K .

The one thing that worries me is that reviews say that Ixia it's a bit of a dump. It says there's a few restaurants and supermarkets to walk to but that's it. We really like having a walk out in the evening doesn't need to be lively but different needs to be somewhere to walk two and I don't fancy a rubbish tip (although I know, Rhodes town is nearby)

The only other option I can find nearby in a price bracket is the Avante holiday village in Paphos Cyprus, which also looks really nice. Has anyone been here the kids at 11, 16 and 2×18-year-olds

The Avante holiday Village seems to have more going on during the day like daytime activities and a bit more going on to walk to however reviews say that it just gets too busy during the summer holidays and also the Pool shallow s so the kids can't dive in etc

Has anyone been to ixia ? Or either the dionysos Hotel or the Avante holiday village in Paphos

Been to Ixia and the next town along Ialyssos. Ialyssos is a nicer town and has a fair few bars and restaurants. Rhodes Town is really nearby and there's a fantastic, very frequent bus service.

ixia is pretty much like a suburb on the edge of Rhodes Town and doesn't really have a distinct centre. But we either went into ilyassos or Rhodes town and had a lovely holiday both times.

We went to the Avanti holiday village in paphos last year in August -our kids were a bit younger than yours though. We thought it was very good for the price. The indoor pool was very deep, there were kids diving in there. outside pools slope from shallow to deep, but not as deep as the indoor one. The location was great, easy walk along the coast into Paphos and a great bus service with a stop right outside the hotel. You can also use the pool at the avanti hotel next door. We always managed to find sun beds, it was busy but then everywhere is in august. The beaches nearby were rocky and not very good but it was easy to get the bus to coral bay, also a good water park close by which our kids loved.

We stayed in Trianda on Rhodes a short distance from what you are looking at, at the time it was out in the sticks but just got the bus or Taxi in to Rhodes old town, we did a day trip to Turkey on the Hydrofoil which was great

We've been to the Avanti Village 3 times, it's great...weirdly we're looking at Dionysos in Ixia for this year!
The Avanti Village is just gorgeous. The staff are amazing and the accommodation is clean and if you request an apartment near the pool its great for nipping back and forth.. The breakfast is really good and so is the restaurant for lunch if you want it by the pool. Paphos marina is walkable, though we got a cab back each time. There are plenty of restaurants near the hotel, and some amazing ones in the marina. There are some fab day trips to do, Jimmy's Jeep safari is a must.
We have been in May, July and October. July was significantly busier. Breakfast was easy still, maybe a bit longer to get drinks by the pool, and loungers were hard to get if you weren't out early, that's about it.
I have the same concerns as you about Ixia but the hotel looks amazing and with Rhodes Town near by I'm wondering if the immediate area matters so much.
Sounds like you look for similar things in a holiday to us..and then Google the crap out of it too which makes it a difficult decision 😄

@Ifulikepinacoladas what was the weather like in October? I’m looking at the Avanti for then.

We went to Paphos last week in October a few years ago, was about 24/26 degrees during the day and 16/18 at night with a good thunderstorm being the only rain all week.

Stayed at Laura beach splash with its own small waterpark.

@Twilightstarbright Cyprus in October has gorgeous weather. Can't remember if we needed hoodies/jacket in the evenings, but the days were definitely hot still.
If you do book the Avanti, have a fantastic time.
