Please recommend me a seaside caravan park

I would like recommendations for a caravan park in Hampshire, Dorset, Isle of Wight or Sussex please.

DCs are 3 or under, and are adamant that they want to stay in an actual caravan and it needs to be by the sea.

Hoburne Naish, Hampshire
Parkdean Nodes Point, Isle of Wight

Both right on the coast.

OldTinHat · 02/02/2023 16:35

Whitecliff Bay and Thorness Bay. Both Isle of Wight and on the beach.

GideonSmideon · 02/02/2023 16:37

Freshwater beach - the caravans are on the edge of a private beach

mogtheexcellent · 02/02/2023 16:39

we are booked into freshwater beach this year, although we are camping. Also Golden Cap was recommended on here a while back.

HerLadySheep · 02/02/2023 16:40

Challaborough Bay in Devon is a lovely park, right on the beach

TaRaDeBumDeAy · 02/02/2023 16:40

I really liked Parkdean Camber and Romney & Park holidays winchelsea and rye harbour. But new beach in Dymchurch was our favourite.

SaltnPeppaPig · 02/02/2023 18:55

Thanks, I'm going to look into all of these. Was much easier when DCs didn't have opinions!

Sorry, but I wouldn't recommend Parkdean Camber. Worst site we've ever been to in terms of the other guests.

The IoW is lovely.

TaRaDeBumDeAy · 03/02/2023 10:29

When we stayed at Camber we didn't stay in the park much, we went to rye and winchelsea and the wildlife reserve and rye harbour. We treated it as a base.

We used to do fri-mon breaks, so not too much time to fill.

We'd usually only have the first night of the stay in the clubhouse, the next night night we'd have ameal out and then on th esunday we'd have a takeaway and a night in because we'd be tired from being out all day sat & sun.

Sandhill Holiday Park on Avon Beach near Mudeford. A lovely beach and the park is right on the prom.

Blueuggboots · 03/02/2023 10:48

They're under 3 and dictate where you go on holiday??

SaltnPeppaPig · 03/02/2023 10:59

They're three, and very excited about going in a caravan by the sea. I can make this happen so I will!

I really like Mudeford so will take a look at that one too. So far I'm most drawn to Hobourne Naish, although ideally a sandy beach would be nice.

I'm not sure what the path is like from the cliff top at Naish, but the beach is sandy when the tide is out.

Sandhills is at beach level, so probably a better bet with little ones.

Oh brilliant. I've only been there briefly before for a walk on the shingle so didn't realise it was sandy with the tide out.

I think hopefully we should manage the path with the baby in the carrier and older DCs walking.

SaltnPeppaPig · 03/02/2023 14:45

I can't find caravan availability at Sandhills for any dates I'm trying, just lodges so it looks like Hobourne Naish might be the one.

White cliff bay is great

ComeTheSpringLobelia · 03/02/2023 14:48

I have stayed on IOW- Nodes Point and Whitecliff Bay. I would recommend both.

ivykaty44 · 03/02/2023 14:51

I was going to come along and sat

Braddicks www.braddicks-seafield.co.uk at Westward Ho! as the caravan site is so close to the beach and the village has nice places to get ice cream and coffee. Plus its very good value - last week of august is the cheapest ive seen.

The beach is amazing and with rock pools - we could literally get in cosies and so for swim in free lido pool or sea and then walk back with towel around us to shower and change. Its a real bucket and spade beach, they also do fab surfing lessons, great fish and chips etc You don't need to use the car for a week

but its north Devon not the counties you've asked for

Ohhelpicantthinkofaname · 03/02/2023 17:18

Bowleaze cove holiday near Weymouth is nice. Nice safe sea too which is shallowish (waist height on an adult) for a long way out. Weymouth is just down the road with lots to do. Often get the bonus of sammy the seal chilling on the beach.

BookwormButNoTime · 03/02/2023 19:48

Whitecliff Bay on the Isle of Wight. Check out the Rockstar caravans!!!!

CoffeeIsMyMiddleName · 04/02/2023 21:11

For Dorset, have a look at West Dorset Leisure Holidays - they seem to have some really nice caravan parks, some with more facilities than others. I saw a recommendation on here for Highlands End and for a beach holiday, I would have booked it (DC1 will want options other than the beach so have gone for somewhere else this year).

West Bay holiday park near Bridport, Dorset

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 04/02/2023 21:18

Another vote for Whitecliffe Bay, my kids love it there

minihitch · 04/02/2023 21:20

SaltnPeppaPig · 10/02/2023 13:28

Thanks for all the suggestions!
