(Preferably) longhaul holiday on BA in August

Looking for inspiration.

We are lucky enough to have free flights on BA.

2 adults, 2 older teens. 2 weeks in August. Combination of things to see & do and somewhere nice to relax. Not fans of spending too long around the pool/beach but some time doing this great.

Originally planned to fly to Bangkok, spend a few days then fly to Koh Samui (not BA, paying for those) and stay at a nice villa with pool, so ticked all the boxes perfectly.

Unfortunately, BA have stopped flying to Bangkok and no guarantee of resuming before August so having to rethink. We can't afford to pay to fly on another airline, we wouldn't be going at all if it weren't for free flights, so appreciate very lucky.

Looked at flying to Toronto staying a few days/do Niagra, then head to a cottage by a lake for a week. So much seems to be booked up and what's left is either very pricey or very basic. Did a similar thing in Boston/Cape Cod a few years which was mostly great but cottage a bit too rustic! Wondering if other areas of US/Canada have similar but perhaps less touristy so lower prices??

Or somewhere else? Grateful for other suggestions. Realise a lot of places ruled out due to rainy season. The key is that BA must have regular flights!

Thanks in advance.

You no longer need to provide proof of vaccination to enter Singapore. The rules just changed a few days ago.

@bluetongue Yep, saw that. Good news!

We did Singapore and Koh Samui/ Koh Phangnan ( spelling!) a few years ago. Weather n the islands was superb! Singapore was hot and humid with a few thunderstorms but not too bad. I think this would be a brilliant solution!
if that doesn’t work out, I love pps suggestion re Vancouver Island and that part of Canada, it’s amazing!
Other option is fly to Johannesburg and go to Kruger on Safari or internal
flight to Durban and do a safari there then onto Cape Town. South Africa is stunning and the game viewing at that time of year will be incredible!

You’d be lucky to find avios availability for August. Maybe for 2 but 4 is hard.

Agree with this - though it might be more doable if two of you fly one day and two the next.

Avios finder

Avios availability has got much better with the new programme. We've always managed to get 4 summer or half term flights. The reward flight finder website is good and worth the few quid membership costs.

I seriously doubt you’ll find anywhere so close to august now. Have a look what’s available before you commit to a destination

Also which cabin do you plan to fly in? It’s often cheaper to buy the ticket with cash as opposed to paying the fees especially in economy
