"Great Egyptian museum" in Germany?- can't find the thread!

I was reading through a post that mentioned a great Egyptian museum and suggesting staying near Munich to access different places, but can't find it! We have flight vouchers we need to use up this summer and I want to take our AS who would otherwise live like a hermit (long story). He's probably on the autistic spectrum and needs to be busy and loves museums and especially anything about Egypt. The plan is that he'd get a flight back after a few days of busyness and we'd stay on to do more relaxing stuff. He's up for this.

I remember reading the post and thinking it sounded ideal but didn't bookmark it.

Any help or suggestions would be very welcome!

I would also recommend the castles, dd is autistic and found the tours fascinating, especially the tales of wagner and ludwig II as she's a musician. Near there there's a summer Bob, which is fun, like a bob sleigh on wheels. Good hiking in the area too

Thank you. I like the sound of the hiking, and museums are essential and guided tours, anything that has a purpose and feeds into his interests (I like them too but also like pavement cafes and shopping!)

We have to go in the summer holidays so know it's going to be hot, something else to bear in mind

Are the tours of the castles ones you book for, like a coach trip, or a guide when you're there? I haven't started my research yet, I just wanted to clarify the museum bit first. Thank you!
