DD will be 16 next year and it coincides with GCSE exams finishing end of June so we can go away beginning of July before school holiday prices.

Looking for ideas- not fussed if it's short or long haul- New York is a contender, as is Boston - budget is around £2,000 for the both of us; at least three nights.

She's outdoorsy but also loves the theatre, history and food!

Boston is great for history and you can get a bus or train to Salem. There’s a history walk, Harvard and the Kennedy Library.

I think New York is a great call. You can do both New York and Boston in one trip. They are not that far from each other.

We are doing NY and Boston this year as part of a larger Summer holiday and also celebrating DD's 16th and the GCSEs being over.
Both will work well for what you plan, we scheduled 5 nights in Boston though, 3 for the city itself, one for Salem and one for a drive around.

What are her interests? DD is a history buff so our city breaks are more driven by this than shopping and vibrant social life.
