Portsmouth to Caen daytime - cabin or not?

Booking trip to France for the summer, thanks to those who recommended Portsmouth to Caen route.

Is it worth getting a cabin for the nearly 6 hour journey? Afternoon on way out, morning on way back.
It is £50 each way vs £20 for reserved seats. We are travelling with our 16 and 13 year old boys.

@Trinitystar assuming you're travelling onwards, I'd just stay in one of the hotels around Ouistreham rather than going into the centre of Caen.

We do it a lot and always I'm for a generous nap. So I'd say yes.

You can take your own kettle etc and make your own cups of tea. Have a shower and a sleep. I love the cabin.

We stayed in the B+B in Ouistreham both directions and it was fine. Very close to the ferry and pleasant area for food and a wander the night before the return ferry.

We really didn’t need a cabin. Had food from the canteen and went to the cinema both directions.
