Please recommend somewhere to stay in New York on a budget

Hoping to go to New York later this year. Just as a couple. We want to be fairly central, only requirements I guess are clean and comfortable beds. Ideally with flights included from Yorkshire/Manchester area.

Can anyone recommend anything? It'll be our first time, probably just five to seven days.

TIA

Oh, and the best areas to stay in would be helpful, no good having an ok hotel if we daren't leave the room!

Are you on Facebook? If so join a forum about bits visiting. We used one and it was invaluable to find out about NYC, if you were on any budget!!!!

If you look on the BA website at flights and accommodation options, they have a lot of hotel options and you will probably pay less for the hotel if you buy in a package.

The major chain hotels have branches all over the city and they will all be clean and comfortable, if a little soulless. You can also consider Jersey City or Hoboken which will be cheaper than Manhattan and it’s a very quick journey on the PATH into the city.

There’s nowhere you’d be likely to stay where you’d be afraid to leave your hotel room.

Thank you. I looked on BA but seemed expensive compared to Trip.com. A lot of cheaper hotels seem to be in the Bronx, they're 3 star mainly. I'm literally clueless and need to do my research!
