So…me and my sis in law have booked a couple of nights in Dublin and just wondering what people recommend to do aside from drinking!

Not to bothered about galleries and museums but would like to do some sightseeing so what is good to visit please?

TIA

This thread is great. I’m also off to Dublin for a long weekend soon, so keeping a note of these suggestions.

Can anyone recommend a bar that has traditional music please? Thinking Dubliners type music?

Thanks!

The only pub I can think of is O donoghues on Baggot st. Which is walking distance from The Shelbourne. Temple bar will have packed pubs with traditional irish music BUT the drinks will be the dearest in the city plus if you fall out of a pub late at night in Temple bar you wil be stepping around the comtents of peoples tummies. Its gross but ok to pop down for an early pm late/afternoon pint.
There is a gin bar called jt pims with food on south great georges street plus loads of restaurants to suit every budget- The long hall is opposite Dunnes stores on Sth great georges street and is another traditional pub
I love The stags head -i always think its full.of cool academics from Trinity solving world issues !!
O 'Neills pub on suffolk st will have music too but never liked it as you can get the smell of food in it at 11 at night!!!

We were out in Dublin last night sooo fun -

The international pub has comedy nights on ( off Grafton too)
I also love The Rolling Donut shop around the corner from Stephens Green SC. Omg the blueberry cheesecake donut is fab. Have a lovely time

Just resurrecting this as off to Dublin in a few weeks - booked the Guiness tour and Kilmainham Gaol. Staying at Trinity. Thinking a traditional pub (The Stags Head?) and the Horseshoe Bar at the Shelborne. Any more tips / recommendations?
