First time in Europe

Hi all,

I'm in the U.K. and I want to go to Europe for the first time end of April ( yes I know the U.K. is part of Europe too - but I mean the other countries).

I haven't decided where but was thinking Italy for a week. It's going to be me, DH and DD who will be 20 months old by then. Also looking for SUN!

Has anyone got any advice on toddler friendly cities or potentially countries in Europe? Perhaps a rough itinerary would be abit helpful too? TIA x

What sort of holiday do you want? City break? Beach? Warm weather? I think you’ll need to provide a bit more info… Italy’s great. And great for kids. But if you want a beach holiday in April you might be lucky. We had storms in the Amalfi coast in may and it was quite chilly. Same in corfu.

Europe is huge, and even saying Italy doesn't really narrow it down! Maybe think about your nearest airport, and check which destinations they fly to.

If your budget can stretch a Disney cruise from Barcelona would be amazing- lots of fun and entertainment on the ship and places to visit off ship with beaches. And get to see different countries in the same holiday.

Late April I suggest Crete, Cyprus or Sicily perhaps as still early for the med. the canaries would be more reliable but longer flight

Scilly would be my choice for April.

If it is your first time going to Europe do you all have passports?

If you want beach/pool weather I would think Canary Islands, Rhodes or Cyprus.

If you are ok with high teens to low twenties you can do southern Italy or Spain.

All of southern Europe can still have rainy days in April, there is no such thing as guaranteed sun until Summer.

Thank you all for such amazing feedback.

We have all got British passports so that part should be ok.

I think I will look at all suggestions perhaps as definitely the weather part is the most important for me! I'm from Kenya so I miss the sun all day!!

Thank you. Also in regards to the kind of holiday - I want both , beach and city life

@CoolShoeshine ah thanks for the tip. Will definitely make a note of this for when she's older. So much to think about.

Thank you all x
