Booking Jet2 package but only using flights

We want to go to Gran Canaria in the October half term. Our nearest airport, Leeds Bradford, only has direct flights with Jet2, and Jet2 only allows you to fly as part of a package holiday on the dates we can do. We want to stay with friends in an Airbnb.

Does anyone know if it's possible to book a package and not turn up to the hotel? Could they cancel our return flight if we do this?

Why would you do that, wouldn't it cost you a ridiculous amount just for a direct flight?!

popsypretty · 25/01/2023 19:12

Could you fly from Manchester instead?

LubaLuca · 25/01/2023 19:14

I'd rather go from a less convenient airport than pay for a hotel room I'm not going to use.

SallySunrise · 25/01/2023 19:14

You could check in at the hotel but not stay?

WestBridgewater · 25/01/2023 19:18

Meet the rep at the airport and tell them the situation.

rookiemere · 25/01/2023 19:21

Why don't you phone them ? They're usually really helpful about answering questions.

You surely can just book a flight with them?

I know from our airport at popular times of year they only do package holidays.

I work for a holiday company, not Jet2, and we know some customers do this to get cheaper flights. Our hotels tend to call us to say the customer is a "no show", we can see the customer checked in for their flight so contact them to check all is OK. Customer says yes but they've found somewhere else to stay. We tell hotel not to hold the room. End of.

bestbefore · 25/01/2023 21:36

@rookiemere oh yes I just looked, didn't know they did that!

snowsilver · 26/01/2023 16:18

If it suits you cost wise you can do it.
I'm flying from LBA next week on a package. I have holiday transfers included but will take a taxi. I just stop on the way out and tell the rep. You could do the same.
You might want to keep the hotel in case the air B&B doesn't work out or you fancy a change?

Georgyporky · 26/01/2023 19:13

Do tell the holiday destination rep. We waited a long time for "no shows" because the stupid, inconsiderate bastards didn't tell anyone.

Perennis · 29/01/2023 20:28

Thanks all. The package from LBA isn't much more than the less convenient flight times from Manchester! I'd be sure to tell the reps.
