Has anyone booked a summer family holiday last minute?

Like what I mean is a week or two before you go?

Just wondering if you actually manage to get a good deal & if it’s worth it or not?

and are the hotels nice?

its all relative - your definition of good deal / worth it, and hotels being nice.

I've done it plenty times, and I'd do it again assuming I'm flexible enough on duration, location, departure airport etc. the more specific you want or need to be on any factor, the more important that is to you, the more it's probably worth booking earlier and getting your choices booked.
You can't leave it until a week before you want to go, and expect that your (very niche) specific choice of holiday is still available ...

The only specific advice I'd give is don't assume anything that's available last minute will automatically be cheaper ... it might, but no guarantee.

It would be very rare to find a last minute cheap deal during the Summer holiday. Holiday companies are predicting high demand this year.
