Mallorca in April - hotel recommendations

Dears,
I was sick of aimlessly searching for Easter breaks so now booked a flight to Mallorca. Which may or may not have been a mistake as I struggle to decide where to stay. In early season I presume it is better to be a bit more central (ie. either near Palma or in the North) where there are some sights to visit. Although we won't be lounging around the pool all day, it would be good to have a hotel with an (indoor or heated outdoor) pool. Would you have any suggestions?
I really liked the Zafira hotels, but the nice ones all come out very very expensive. Alternative are the Iberostar places. And it is really difficult to compare hotel pools. Every time I think I've found something it appears to be adults only or really in a corner of the island. Where would you go? I would love to have a luxury place and am not looking for evening entertainment etc.

I liked Prinsotel la Dorada on the east coast.

Just got back from the Fonatella Playa in Can Pastilla and I can't recommend it enough. It is located on a beautiful beach and there is a bus that runs from outside every few minutes, directly into the centre of Palma.

Many thanks for your replies already! It would be in the Easter week (early April) with our kids (ages ranging from 13-4). We did Crete last time and they had a blast in the Lyttos Mare hotel and unfortunately I cannot seem to find anything of the same standard on Mallorca. We're happy to rent a car but it is nice to be 'near' some of the sights.

I can't advise on hotels as we stayed in airbnb's but I'd stay in Palma first which is lovely and then take the tourist train to Soller and stay there. Soller is a lovely town and from there you can get the tram down to Port de Soller or get the bus to Deia, Valle de mossa etc or walk to some of the picturesque villages around.
